Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Vampires

December 17th, 2009

castlevania-losLords of Shadows is the forthcoming “reboot” of the Castlevania series. Set in “the end of days” it features a variety of evil undead, including vampires. As a taster for the game, developers have released this picture of a vampire from a screenshot.

Apparently that’s a vampire. Nothing special, not a major character, just an underling.

Oh boy, I hate to think what the big boss will look like. I think it’s safe to assume that he won’t sparkle.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will be available to buy in 2010 for the PS3 and XBox 360.

Taking the Vampire Out of Vlad

December 11th, 2009

Mention the name Vlad the Impaler to most people and they’ll immediately think of vampires and Dracula. So when it was announced that Brad Pitt’s production company will be involved with a movie called Vlad it seemed natural to expect yet another vampire flick.

Not so. Writer Charlie Hunnam has made clear that Vlad will not be about vampires. Instead the script as it stands now is a “big and sweeping story” of Vlad’s life. However Hunnam’s far from unaware of the vampire links, saying in an Entertainment Weekly interview:

There are a million ways to show that this guy is the origin of vampirism without actually having him drinking blood.

There’s no definite casting yet for the movie, however Hunnam has suggested that Colin Farrell would be right for the lead role.
